Kreischberg ski area comprises 40 km of pistes of all levels with excellent black runs right down to the large car parking area. The resort is particularly suited to families with children learning to ski because there are a number of ski and snow boarding schools right next to the well-groomed mid-mountain blue and red pistes and restaurants. It hosts a number of international snowboarding events and is used by the Hungarian Ski Team for training because its sophisticated snow cannon system effectively guarantees snow from December to Easter. We have guests from Vienna who want to ski here every year due to the snow reliability. A new 6 seater lift was built this year in the first phase of an investment programme to link the village of Stadl with the ski area.

For more challenging skiing, Obertauern (100 km pistes), Mauterndorf (47 km pistes) , Katschberg (70 km pistes) and Turracher Hoehe (38 km pistes) are just 45 mins drive with Obertauern and Turrach open to early May.

If you don't want to or can't ski, you could drive 45 mins to the thermal spa in Fohnsdorf (see www.therme-aqualux.at) for spas, relaxation, swimming, and general pampering.
