Chalet Kirchblick ~ Summer
There is even more to do here in the summer than in the winter. For golfers there is an excellent award-winning course adjoining the ski area set in beautiful scenery and with an english-speaking Pro. (see www.golf-murau-kreischberg.at) There are two open-air pools (one in St Lorenzen and one in Murau) and an indoor pool with children's slide within a 5 minute drive or short cycle ride. Stadl, 15 minutes away, has a bathing lake and children's play area. Oberwoelz, a mountain village 20 minutes away, also has a lovely pool with children's slide and diving boards.
The chalet is immediately adjacent to one of Europe’s longest cycle paths. Pack a picnic and cycle along the Mur valley or if you are feeling less energetic you can get onto the Murtalbahn (there is a stop immediately opposite the chalet), the small gauge railway which you can take all the way to Tamsweg. You can also take this train to connect with the mainline rail services in Unzmarkt to travel directly to Klagenfurt, Graz and Vienna.
A little further afield you could enjoy the beautiful unspoilt scenery at Turracher Hoehe and go on the 1,600 m (1 mile) exciting "Nocky Flitzer" all-year toboggan then drive to the gorgeous Millstaettersee for an afternoon swim in the lake. Or why not spend a whole day on the famous Woerthersee, only an hour’s drive a way and enjoy some shopping and café culture in Klagenfurt.
2 adult and 2 childrens' bikes are available for your use and along with outdoor dining furniture are stored in the bike shed attached to the house.
A day trip to Italy is also possible with Trieste around 2.30 hours drive and Venice around 3.30 hours drive.
